Anabella

This oil study I did from reference in just a couple of hours at the Farmers Market in Trapichi.
I'd previously prepared the green background before arriving at the market.
I wanted a loose colorful study and quickly got drawn in with this one. I was oblivious to my surroundings and just got on with it. Before I new it the session was over and I thought 'I don't need to do any more to this'.

Gentle

An oil sketch done from reference 20cm x 25cm oil on wood panel. I like this one because of the unusual expression on the girls face - and along with the style of the painting you cant help being drawn to those beautiful eyes.

Balloo

Many of my commissions are of pets. This 20cm x 25cm oil on wood panel is Balloo our old dog that passed away a couple of years ago.

He was one of those dogs you could write a book about all the mischief he got up to. Well he’s now framed up on wall in our hall very much still with us.

Campo studies

When I get an opportunity I love to go out into the campo and paint the local landscape. There is something uniquely satisfying about sitting quietly painting for a few hours out in the open air.

These paintings are small 20cm x 15cm studies done in oil on wood panel.

I added earrings from my friend Joanna Piniuta who also is at the market and designs and makes all her jewellery.
